Celebrate the Watershed! is a collaboration to heighten our awareness of the importance of good water quality, especially in this wonderful place we call home.

Muskegon trail family bike or hike*:
Beginning at 10:00 a.m. Leave your bikes at the LST 393, a WWII Landing Ship Tank. Drop your vehicle off at Pere Marquette Park then catch the Trolley back to the LST. The trolley runs every 1/2 hr. starting at 10:00 a.m. Last pick up at Pere Marquette— 11:30 a.m. Take your time riding back to the car on a self guided (about 5-mile) tour along Muskegon Lake’s rail-trail. Donation requested; $5.00 per family. For one day only discount tours will be offered at both the LST and the SS Silversides! Muskegon Conservation District’s books, rain barrels, and compost bins will be for sale at the SS Silversides from 1:00-3:00.

Pere Marquette Surfrider & MACkite Demonstration
12 noon til 4:00 The Surfrider Foundation is a non-profit environmental organization dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of the Great Lakes, its waves and its beaches for all people, through conservation, activism, research and education. Watch people fly and surf the waves!

Mona Lake Boat Club Fun 372 Randall Rd.
Kayak Paddle:
Beginning 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 A “draw- 5” poker game. Paddle to spots on the lake to collect your hand (about a 1-mile paddle). $10.00 donation to the Mona Lake Watershed Council. Best hand wins ½ the pot.
Adult Bike loop: About a 10-mile loop beginning and ending at the Boat Club.
Kids Scavenger Hunt:* 10:00 a.m.-12:00. On the Boat Club grounds.
Kayak Trials: 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. Sign up: Lakeshore Kayak Rental, www.lakeshorekayakrental.com, (616)566-1325. Take a kayak for a 30-60 minute test ride. Cost $8-14. You may also show the day of the event, but may have to wait to try a kayak if you don’t make reservations.
Public Picnic: 12:00-5:00 On the Point by the Tiki Bar. Dogs & burgers, raffles, moon walk and inflatable obstacle course. Cost $10.00 adults, $5.00 kids.
